SPRING HILL COLLEGE FALL CLASSES AT IGNATIUS HOUSE
Canon Law for Pastoral Ministers
– with Bro. Nicholas Wolfa, OFM Conv., JCL
The aim of this course is not to create canonists but to provide lay and ordained ministers in the Church with a historical, theological, and practical perspective on the use of the Code of Canon Law as it pertains to ministry in general and one’s particular area of ministry in particular.
Bro. Nicholas Wolfa is on the staff of the Metropolitan Tribunal of the Archdiocese of Atlanta and is an experienced canonist. His class is sure to be one of great practical application and tremendous insight.

Johannine Gospel and Epistles – with Thomas Boone, PhD
The course will explore the Gospel of John and the First Epistle of John as literary products of a particular sectarian Christian community of the first century CE that sought to define itself in distinction to traditional Judaism as well as other Christian groups. Students will learn how to read Johannine literature critically and how to understand some major Johannine scholars of narrative criticism and historical criticism.
 
Dr. Thomas Boone did his doctoral studies at Loyola University of Chicago with a focus on Johannine literature. He is a popular teacher of biblical theology for Spring Hill College and is also an ordained minister of the Presbyterian Church (USA).
